Let's Stay Connected
Social isolation was deadly at the best of times. The outbreak of COVID-19 has accelerated the forced isolation of seniors alone at home which will only grow worse and get deadlier until we can find a meaningful vaccine and ramp up our existing healthcare infrastructure.
But this disaster has also accelerated innovation, resilience and the community spirit. We are witnessing a unique forcing factor on the adoption and creative uses of technology to help people stay connected.
Our mission was always to combat social isolation and make socialization accessible to the vulnerable. But we had never imagined that a global pandemic would be the reason people would need to use our service. But here we are. And now we have a responsibility to serve the untold seniors and communities that are looking at us for solutions.
Here are some ways we would like to help:
Following the Governor's initiative: Stay Home, Stay Healthy & Stay Connected, we can accomplish this safely and make friends.
It’s tough for seniors and those who are responsible for them. Senior living communities, state-run local senior centers, museums, libraries and parks are being shut down immediately with long term rigid social-distancing measures in place till the foreseeable future.
televëda will be opening up our classes for free to the homebound and isolated, and be a resource for families.

We are continuously onboarding nonprofits, senior living communities and faith-based groups with continuity of services for socialization.
With this outbreak, the elderly are hit the hardest. Nursing homes and senior living communities are facing more stress, a downturn in market conditions, further layoffs in an already overworked environment, and strained for resources than ever before. These lock-downs and quarantines are further accelerating the moral, healthcare and economic costs associated with loneliness.
We understand these are scary times, to say the least. Instituting lock-downs and no-touch policies may be the first step. But then what? Life must go on for seniors. By leveraging technology, our partner organizations have been adequately prepared. Their community experience will persist and continue uninterrupted, while their staff can focus on their core responsibilities and ensure the safety of their residents. Residents can still participate in online and live wellness programs, socialize with friends without any risk of infection.
There are many ways of getting started with virtual wellness, but many more factors to consider for the safety, support and success of your users. We have a bit of experience in this space and happy to share resources, expertise and assistance to get you started.

At the time of this pandemic, we are offering continuity of services to organizations and socialization to the vulnerable without any risk of infection. By working with state officials and nonprofits, we hope to alleviate the strain on public health workers with virtual wellness options and help with containment efforts.
